Principal Investigator
Dr. Kai Wu is a Professor and Outstanding Scholar for "Yat-sen Scholar Program" at School of Chemistry, Sun Yat-sen University. He is funded by the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas). Before assuming his current position on January, 2024, Dr. Wu was an ERC advanced grant funded postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge. Dr. Wu obtained a BS degree from Lanzhou University (Supervisor: Prof. Wei Wang) in 2013 and received a PhD degree in chemistry from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2018 (Supervisor: Prof. Cheng-Yong Su). He was an ERC Consolidator Grant RAMSES postdoctoral fellow at TU Dortmund University since 2018 before joining the University of Cambridge in 2021. Dr. Wu's research is dedicated to uncovering the inherent principles governing controlled self-assembly, structural diversity, and structure-property relationships within coordination supramolecular systems. Dr. Wu's group has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, and his work has been well received by the community based on per article citations. Dr. Wu has won several honors for his contributions to the biomimetic super-sized cages, "active" heterometallic cages and multifunctional heteroleptic cages.
